Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Cloud Light Office uses cookies and similar technologies, which ones are essential, which are optional, and how you can control them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let the site remember your actions and preferences - such as your language or your cookie choices - over time, so you do not have to set them again on every visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, work in comparable ways; where this policy says "cookies", it covers these too.

How we use cookies

Cloud Light Office is a simple, mostly static guide. That means we use very few cookies. We divide them into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies - required for the site to work and to keep it secure. They cannot be switched off through our settings.
  • Preference cookies - remember choices you make, such as the language or the display settings you have selected.
  • Analytics cookies - help us understand, in aggregate, how the guides are used so we can improve them. These are only set if you consent.
  • Marketing cookies - used to measure the reach of campaigns. We do not currently set any, and we would only do so with your explicit consent.

Cookies we may set

The table below lists the cookies this site may set. The exact list depends on the features and tools that are enabled at the time you visit.

Name Category Purpose Duration
cl_session Strictly necessary Keeps your session working correctly and protects the site from abuse. Session
cl_consent Strictly necessary Stores the cookie choices you have made so we do not ask again. 12 months
cl_prefs Preferences Remembers your language and display preferences. 12 months
cl_analytics_id Analytics Counts anonymous visits and distinguishes returning visitors. 13 months
cl_referrer Analytics Records which page or search brought you here, in aggregate. 6 months

Third-party cookies

Some features may rely on services provided by other companies - for example, an analytics service or an embedded video player. These providers may set their own cookies. We choose providers that offer a European data-protection framework and we only load the optional ones after you have given consent.

How to manage or delete cookies

You are in control of the cookies on your device. You can:

  1. Use the cookie banner or settings on this site to accept or reject optional cookies, and change your mind at any time.
  2. Change your browser settings to block or delete cookies. This is usually found under "Privacy", "Security" or "Cookies" in your browser's settings menu.
  3. Delete cookies that are already stored on your device - again, through your browser settings.

Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to read our guides.

Consent and "Do Not Track"

Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary, and we do not set those cookies until you agree. We also respect the privacy signals built into modern browsers where they are available. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it - just reopen the cookie settings.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove cookies, or if the rules change, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
